Cork City Fire Fighters Raise €15,231 for Charity

For a week in the run up to Christmas members of the Cork City Fire Brigade Sports & Social Club sold tickets for a model railway lay worth in excess of €2,000 for the Children's Leukaemia Ward at The Mercy Hospital Cork.

The layout was built from scratch by Joe O'Toole who started the project in August and worked away up to the night before the display was launched. The layout was on display at the Wilton Shopping Centre, Cork for the week with the draw being held on the Monday night at 18.00hrs. This was the sixth successive year that the project was undertaken going from strenght to strenght. To date over €110,000 has been raised.
